Sigma custom western guitar with solid European spruce top and laminated cocobolo body.
With the Sigma DCO-28H, the manufacturer Sigma presents an acoustic guitar in dreadnought design from its custom store. The instrument is equipped with high-quality materials and convinces with its powerful and defined sound, which unfolds quickly and extensively in all frequencies. The scope of delivery includes a sturdy Sigma SSC-D Softshell Case, which is equipped with dimensionally stable padding and robust backpack straps.
Woods and construction
A solid top made of European spruce provides a distinctly clear sound that unfolds quickly and over a wide area due to the coarse structure of the wood. In addition, a laminated cocobolo body enriches the tone with warm bass frequencies, making the instrument very suitable for expressive strumming and vocal accompaniment. A flat mahogany neck with a fine ebony fingerboard guarantees a very comfortable grip on the 6 steel strings, which intonate cleanly over the entire scale length of 645 mm thanks to a compensated bridge inlay and a 44.5 mm wide bone nut.
Design and hardware
The traditional 14-fret dreadnought construction of the Sigma DCO-28H is highlighted with a fine herringbone binding that creates a subtle transition between the light top wood and the reddish, rough-grained wood of the rib. Furthermore, the headstock of the acoustic guitar is equipped with open nickel tuners, which on the one hand guarantee precise tuning of the strings and on the other hand give the instrument a traditional touch with their small butterbean buttons. The visual appearance is rounded off by a very thin high-gloss finish, which emphasizes the grain of the woods used in a very discreet way.
